During the next meetup Jonathan Gray of Streamy, Inc will discuss the
finer points of using HBase, comparing it to using relational databases.
About Jonathan Gray
Co-Founder, Streamy Inc.
Jonathan
Gray co-founded Streamy in 2006. Jonathan has held various technology
positions with organizations including Credit Suisse, Carnegie Mellon
University, and Menorah Housing Foundation. In addition, Jonathan led
Entrophy Communications, a Web services and consulting firm from 1996
to 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical and
computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and more than ten
years of experience in software development and system administration.
At Streamy, Jonathan is the primary technical decision maker and leads
the backend development team. In addition to Hadoop and HBase, he is
also involved with projects involving Erlang, Python, web crawling,
recommendation systems, machine learning, and many custom data indexing
and caching applications.
